The Wow Company UK Limited (referred to as the “Company”, “we”, ‘us” or “our” in this statement) is committed to protecting and respecting the personal information that we process and to providing a compliant and consistent approach to data protection.
Wow takes the privacy and security of individuals and their personal information very seriously to ensure we’re compliant with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

Our commitment for processing personal information is to:

•    Process data lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way;
•    Collect data only for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes;
•    Ensure data is processed and stored securely and is kept up-to-date.

Our compliance plan

We uphold a strong standard of data protection and security throughout Wow to ensure full compliance with UK GDPR. The steps we have taken include:

  1. Data Audit: carrying out a company-wide data audit to examine and evaluate the Company’s data-related practices, processes and systems to assess how data is collected, how and why it is processed and ways in which we can strengthen our data protection position.
  2. Privacy policies and procedures: updating and developing various data-related policies as a result of the data audit to ensure alignment with UK GDPR requirements and any relevant data protection laws.
  3. Legal Basis for Processing: reviewing all processing activities to identify the legal basis for processing data and ensuring that each basis is appropriate for the activity it relates to.

Your rights

Your rights under data protection laws concerning your personal data include:

  • Requesting access to your personal data (sometimes known as a "subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.

  • Requesting a correction to the personal data that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you corrected (though we may need to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide to us).

  • Ask us not to process your Personal Data for direct marketing purposes.

  • Request the deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove Personal Data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it.

  • Object to processing of your personal data where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) as the legal basis for that particular use of your data – please note, that we may demonstrate that we have compelling legitimate grounds to process your information which override your right to object.

  • Request restriction of the processing of your personal data. This allows you to ask us to pause the processing of your data in specific situations.

  • Some of these rights are not absolute so for further information, please see our Privacy Policy https://www.thewowcompany.com/privacy-policy or contact our DPO using the contact details below.
